Four years ago I participated in a fantastic workshop in Chicago, with 40 other balloon artists from around the world, creating a three-city-block entry in the Chicago Pride Parade. (You'll see photos on the "Parade" page of this website.) I learned a lot while making many friends; it's been fun to see them at other continuing education events and, of course, online. One friend from that workshop, Jenn Nykos, was featured on ABC News recently, telling about how she has shifted her business, "Fun by the Yard" in South Bend, IN, back to its beginnings of yard decor out of fun signs. Lo and behold, a photo of some of our work made it into the story! I had made the two balloon designs for the first #onemillionbubbles effort, when balloon artists around the world created and shared balloon art as a way to bring joy as stay-in-place orders went into effect. Jenn shared the photo on her Facebook page, and ABC included it in their story on her business. Fun!
